EB-2 National Interest Waiver, Recommendation Letters

Here at USCES, we are always assisting our customers with filing their EB-2 Visa paperwork, and we wanted to share some top tips that we have learned from assisting with over 10,000 approved petitions!

1. You will need 5-7 recommendation letters.

Where do I get recommendation letters for my National Interest Waiver?

Here at USCES.org, we provide experts in your field to review your specific credentials, and write USCIS recommendation letters for your EB-2 NIW petition.

2. If you choose to DIY, be sure to follow a set format throughout all.  There is a lot of resources available on the internet regarding this, and you are welcome to send the expert the draft to assist them in writing it.

3. Ensure you have your advanced degree evaluated by a professional evaluation agency, such as USCES.org.  USCIS states the following regarding this:

The job you apply for must require an advanced degree and you must possess such a degree or its equivalent (a baccalaureate degree plus 5 years progressive work experience in the field).

Typically, USCIS follows a 3:1 rule, which means 3 years of work experience is equal to one year of collegiate experience. Be sure to have your work experience evaluated as well, to ensure that you satisfy this requirement.

4. For NIW, USCIS states the following:

Aliens seeking a national interest waiver are requesting that the Labor Certification be waived because it is in the interest of the United States.

This means that what you are doing is so important, that it would benefit the United States to further itself, and therefore the Visa would be granted.  For this purpose, that is why USCIS wants to see 5-7 recommendation letters.
