Credential evaluation for TN Visa – Mexican and Canadian Citizens

If you are looking to get a Credential Evaluation for TN Visa, please visit us here USCES.

Under the North American Free Trade Agreement, certain citizens of Canada and Mexico are eligible to enter the U.S. to work temporarily under non-immigrant TN status.

Canadian citizens are not required to file a petition for employment; they only need to obtain TN status when entering US. Unlike Canadian citizens, Mexican applicants must apply at the U.S. consulate in their home country.

We process over 9,000 credential evaluations each year for the TN-1 and TN-2 Visa for Mexico and Canada.  Under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), citizens of Canada and Mexico are able to enter the United States to work temporarily under non-immigrant status.  To have your foreign degree evaluated for the TN visa, read more.

For a TN Visa, you have to apply to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  They are the authority that issues the visa’s and has all final say on petitions.  We have done a lot of evaluations for USCIS, so we know exactly what they are looking for.

However, keep in mind that your degree must meet the following:

  1. Must be on the NAFTA List.
  2. The individual must possess the necessary education or training for that profession.  That means having the degree from an accepted University.
  3. Must be a professional position as outlined by the USCIS requirements.
  4. Must work for a U.S. Employer

If you have any questions about TN-1 or TN-2 Visa’s, you can contact us at USCES.
